“That shot” overlooking Vancouver Harbour from the Vancouver Pacific Rim Hotel – this picture was actually taken in reverse (with the reflection of the harbour in the in the window).
“Well – I loved this gown (I added the pink sash myself) – it was quite the scene trying to get it to blow properly and for me to cast with some elegance. Typically I prefer something more buoyant (when fishing) than yards of silk.”
“They (the editor) liked this picture more than what was chosen for the cover – I like that it is outdoors and love the shadows of the trees – great photography.”
“Some Time With Ann Kaplan” by Rachael Biggs
“I loved this outfit – soft leather and oh-so-comfortable – I ended up purchasing it.”
“This Yves Saint Laurent jumpsuit was so stunning – as were the Louboutin’s – at the last minute I bought roller blades (colour coordinated) and suggested we do a double-take. Am glad this picture made the cut (in the magazine).”
“They rented a boat for this shot! There,in front, were an incredible (and fun) team of people making me feel like the most special person – I seriously had a surreal day. The backdrop of the shot (Vancouver) is stunning.”
“This is down at the Vancouver Harbour – I take it the docks were not made for Ball Gowns.”
Magazine Shoots: Behind the Scenes
They said “wear this dress” (it was was a Wayne Clark gown) – I said “Okay, but can we be doing something different – it’s a hot day in Vancouver! Who wears a gown in the middle of the day”.
“The people that I met – stylist, make-up, hair and a coordinator – if only every day one had an entourage.” Photographer: Liz Roza Production/Creative/Stylist: Crystal Carson Make up: Vanessa Parto Hair Stylist: Caitlin Callaghan for Mac Cosmetics Stylist: Emery Pastachak
Haute Dog: “I actually don’t eat meat – thank goodness veggie dogs were on the menu.”

“Chase was vey serious…called out, ‘What ring?’ when the minister asked him to pass it.”
“So proud…”
“Spontaneously, he was down one knee when he placed the ring on my finger…he had upgraded it to a larger diamond – which was fun.”
“With my biological father, my mother, my mother-in-law and close friends.”
“The toast to the bride was one of the most beautiful and heart-warming speeches ever.”
“Feather boa’s and dancers and reenactment of “Razzle Dazzle” – Stephen appeared on stage.”
“Lined up outside the design exchange – these gentlemen stood like soldiers on Bay Street.”
“Beautiful moment of two of our beautiful children.”
“He upgraded the ring! Surprise! In Cirque fashion, a person literally ‘spun’ down from forty feet above us and presented me with a larger diamond. On bended knee…Stephen placed the ring.”
“Wonderful ceremony with our children and family…the Wedding March quickly morphed into the Rocky Theme – too much fun.”
“She had the ring pinned to her top and handed it to Chase after spinning and reaching ground level.”
“My biological parents at our wedding renewal. This was one of the most extraordinary gifts in a celebration of life – I never imagined them meeting (so many years later) – to unite in harmony was precious.”
“A few weeks post-double bypass surgery, Berne, my biological father, flew out from Hawaii to walk me down the aisle.”
“Fun – whimsical and tall – the marzipan bride and groom and marzipan kids adorned the cake on different tiers.”
“Down from the ceiling (where she had been waiting) spun the deliverer of the ring to the sounds of ‘Diamonds are Forever’.”
“One of only two pictures ever taken with my biological mother and father – happily reunited for this one event. This picture is precious.”
“Scene” in Passing
Ann Kaplan and Vanessa Mulroney at the Fashion Cares event.

Fun Shots
With lifelong friend (Kim) in our Vancouver kitchen.
Literally a “hand bag” – nothing like Moschino for the fun bags.
Walking the red carpet at Fashion Cares – I wasn’t sure if I was supposed to twirl, stand or what…so worried no one would take my picture (seriously – that was my thought) – obviously at least one photographer did.
A beautiful sable coat from a loving husband – thank you for the Valentine’s gift, Stephen.
Updo courtesy of Daniel at Fiorio’s.
Prepping for the Vancouver Art Gallery fundraiser.
Great transition. Thank goodness my husband finally cut his hair!
I presented at this event with Justin Trudeau. In this picture I am honouring the amazing Christine Poirier.
With JP and Bo – two close friends – nothing better than laughing until you cry.
“The Tree” – Santa (aka: Stephen) resting before the action. Always a big event in the Mulholland home.
They had fake backgrounds and costumes at this event. Good friends Carol and Bo joined me for a fun photo.
Home Cooking
Dripping with a balsamic vinegar reductions and light spices, this is a family favourite.
Carrots with dill/almond, bok choi with sesame and ponzu sauce, rosemary infused fresh mashed potatoes.
All of our meals, whether a celebration or not, are colourful, formal and “an event”. This one is Easter, 2015.
Bright, colourful and festive of the occasion…Easter is a big event in our home.
Clove, pineapple and ham – as a vegetarian this is hard to stomach cooking.
My husband, in particular, corners the ham – loves the brown sugar dressing and the moistness.
Possibly one of the most complicated simple dishes to get right.
